Postpartum Complications May Be Under Diagnosed

Women are often not screened well enough during postpartum for postpartum mental health complications. Women also have many misconceptions about postpartum depression and anxiety, so they may not speak with their doctors about their symptoms. Postpartum depression and anxiety can appear a few weeks after giving more or up to a year after giving birth. Make sure to talk with your OB/GYN about any mental health symptoms you are experiencing to assure you get the proper help.
